The Laurel Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association and The City of Laurels 4th of July Committee are Proudly Presenting Laurels First Annual Lawn Mower Race And Mason Dixon Pod Chili Cook-Off!

* Rain or shine Gates open at 10:30AM
* Plenty of free parking in the immediate area.
* Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets
* Food and drinks available for purchase.
* No outside consumables.


Stock Amateur Race Rules:
*All Stock Mowers will go thru a thorough Technical Pre-Race Inspection.
*Mowers must be of mass produced design and sold commercially thru a dealer to mow residential lawns.
*Mowers must remain suitable for lawn cutting.
*Brakes must be functional. Seat Kill Switch Must be Functional.
*BLADES MUST BE REMOVED.
*Governed Engine maximum RPM is 3650. This will be checked.
*Deck must be in the highest position with a minimum of 2.5 inch ground clearance.
*NO Modifications are allowed to drive train (Changing pulleys). This will be checked.


Driver Racing Apparel Requirements:
*Drivers must wear an Approved Helmet. Goggles or Face shield required for eye protection.
*Glasses or Sunglasses are not permissible by themselves.
*Every driver must wear long pants and long sleeve shirt.
*Full Fingered gloves must be worn.
*Over Ankle Footwear/Boots must be worn. Awards to be determined.


Hi There Chili Cooks ... the time has come to show the world what YOU can do!
The Mason Dixon Pod of CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) is holding the Maryland State Chili Championships during the Laurel 4th of July Committees fundraising for the 2010 fireworks.

We are reaching out to all old (experienced), novice and potential chili cooks to let them know that we would love to have you enter this Chili Cook-Off.

If you have that World Championship chili recipe that you have been perfecting and are willing to put in front of Judges to see if it is the Best in Maryland then we want you!

If you are a winner, you can represent the State of Maryland at the Terilingua International Chili Cook-off in November.

If you want to enter the Peoples Choice Competition, where the public votes for their favorite chili, please contact [email protected].

The CASI Competition Chili must be prepared onsite and contains only meat and Chili gravy. The Peoples Choice Chili can contain meat and other ingredients that the cook wants to tempt the public with. Trophies will be awarded for 1st - 3rd in both competitions.
