ARTSCAPE FACTS - Americas largest free public arts festival.

Dates: July 17, 18 and 19, 2009
Friday: 12-10pm / Saturday: 12-10pm / Sunday: 12-8pm.

Location:
Mount Royal Avenue and Cathedral Street / Charles Street. Bolton Hill neighborhood and Station North Arts and Entertainment District.

A good landmark to help with directions is the Lyric Opera House, 140 West Mt. Royal Avenue, 21201.

Year: 28th annual festival.

Attendance: 350,000+ people.

Admission:
Free and open to the public, Artscape is held outdoors in tents, and inside the neighborhoods premier exhibition spaces and performing arts venues. The event is handicapped accessible.

Description: Americas largest free arts festival, Artscape features 150+artists, fashion designers and craftspeople, including DIY/new wave crafters; visual art exhibits on and off site, such as outdoor sculpture, art cars,photography and the Janet and Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize; incredible live concerts on three outdoor stages; a full schedule of performing arts including dance, opera, theater, fashion, film, experimental music and performances by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; family events such as hands-on projects, demonstrations, jazz vocal and combo competitions, childrens entertainers and multiple street theater locations; and a delicious, international menu of food and beverages available throughout the site.

Dance and Acrobatics - Three Full Days in the Lyric Opera House
Festival-goers can enjoy programming inside the Lyric Opera House on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Concert Opera and Organ Concerts
Corpus Christi Church (110 West Lafayette Street) becomes the home of both Concert Opera and Organ Concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Music Stages - The outdoor music venues at Artscape have been re-organized.

Ride MTA to Artscape!
Public Transportation is the best way to get to the festival. The State Center Metro Subway Station is just steps away from the festival. The closest MTA Bus lines to Artscape are the Nos. 3, 11, 13, 14 (Sunday only), 19, 21, 27 and 64. The Light Rail stop at University of Baltimore/Mt. Royal Avenue is in the center of Artscape activities, and the Cultural Center stop on Howard Street is adjacent to the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

Parking - Paid Parking is at many areas that are within walking distance to the festival.
